First Swedish translation of Virgil's Eclogues, his first published poems.

"It was translated by Gustaf Palmfelt (1680–1744) in hexameter form which Adlerbeth refers to as a suppressed enslavement “en förtryckande träldom” due to the large amount of consonants in the Swedish language. Palmfelt does not state which text edition he used as the foundation for his translation, but instead provides a lengthy justification and explanation for writing in Swedish hexameter form."
