Exceedingly rare work on the state of the Turkish/Ottoman empire. The author is anonymous but with a focus on state income, state administration, juristically aspects and visits by foreign ministers and embassies, the author was most likely a diplomat in the Ottoman Empire.

The late 18th century was a dire period for the Ottoman Empire which was facing several challenges and undergoing significant changes. Here are some key aspects of its state during that time. It was in a state of decline and facing numerous challenges, both internally and externally. While efforts were made to reform and modernize certain aspects of the empire, they were often met with resistance and were insufficient to reverse the overall decline.
