First German translation of Misson's work which "is the first general account of Italy" (Cox). It is considered one of the most important 18th century travel guides to Italy.
Misson's travels were made in 1687 and 1688 and his account contain a description of the present state of the whole of Italy and closer observations on Florence, Luca, Rome, Naples and Padua and at the end an instruction for travellers.
