First German edition of the most important description of Iceland in the 18th century, often called the foundation for all later researches on the island, an expedition initiated by the Royal Danish Society. The authors travelled around Iceland in the years between 1752 and 1757 describing the geology, geography, zoology, botany, archaeology, mineralogy etc. as well as the economic conditions.
